Leeds is a proper city break done right
The shopping alone is worth the trip - the Victoria Quarter is stunning, those ornate glass arcades are unlike anything back home. Food scene is great too, loads of variety without breaking the bank. Really easy city to get around on foot.
Great city for a weekend away
Leeds has so much going on. The Headingley area has a really relaxed feel with good cafes and independent shops. People are genuinely friendly here - not just polite, actually friendly. Pub culture is strong and the food is good value compared to other UK cities I've visited.
Loved every bit of it
Came for a city break and left really impressed. Kirkgate Market is massive and full of character - one of the biggest covered markets I've seen in the UK. The street food stalls inside are a must. Leeds doesn't feel like a tourist trap at all, which is refreshing.
Solid city with a real personality
I wasn't sure what to expect from Leeds but it totally won me over. The music scene here is serious - there are live venues all over the place. The Northern quarter around Merrion Street has plenty going on after dark. Good energy throughout the whole stay.
A brilliant spot for culture lovers
The Royal Armouries museum is free and genuinely one of the best I've visited anywhere in Europe. Leeds has a solid arts scene and the city center is compact enough to cover on foot. Accommodation was affordable and the locals were easy to chat to.
Great shopping city in the UK
If you're into shopping, Leeds is up there with the best of them. The Trinity Leeds centre is huge and well laid out. Got a Yorkshire parkin from a bakery stall at Kirkgate Market and it was delicious - dense, sticky, and nothing like what we get at home.
